Position Summary

Job Description

We are seeking an early-career professional with an entrepreneurial mindset who is on the pulse of digital media strategy and traditional marketing experience. You catalyze audience engagement around social change, and take narrative and combine it with quantitative data to inform strategy and decision making. The ideal candidate likes collaborative work and is comfortable working in teams.  


Oversees the day-to-day operations of advertising campaigns, creating reporting, data set-up and event conversion tracking so that we can monitor and optimize campaign strategy for efficacy and achieve results. 


Remote with ability to visit LA every 6-8 weeks, as needed

Associate Manager

Salary Range

$70,000 - $80,000*

Reporting Structure

Reports to the Senior Media Planner, Buyer & Strategist  at the intersection of the Strategy and  Data & Technology Department.

Work Experience

Experience building marketing plans, digital strategies, audience analytics and optimization. 

Technical Experience

Proficiency in social ad managers (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), Google ad products,  programmatic display products, data visualization tools and  comfort with large spreadsheets and amounts of data  (e.g. Google Data Studio, etc.)

Research & Analytics 

Comfort with deciphering quantitative and qualitative data.

Other Preferred Knowledge

  • Experience working in an agency setting or consulting firm.
  • Active member of coalitions and communities we serve. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the political process, power and politics.
  • Bilingual

Key Competencies and Responsibilities 

Media Coordination

  • Execute advertising plans that map out objectives, KPIs and goals.
  • Create reports based on findings. 
  • Tests, segments, and reports on ads performance.
  • Manage ad inventory availability requests 
  • Maintain ad specs for all digital products and QA content in production
  • Support team in implementation of new ad & data technologies
  • Support client onboarding and offboarding processes  (collecting info, disclaimers, pixels) 

Campaign Management

  • Support Ad team in daily campaign maintenance
  • Be responsible for implementing trafficking timelines to ensure campaigns launch on time across accounts. Work with respective teams to ensure deadlines are met and communicate turnaround times.
  • Work closely with the client teams and Senior Ads Manager to ensure that content is customized per platform and audience lists are updated at a regular cadence on ad platforms
  • Contribute to cross-department brainstorms for campaign concepting and work in partnership and across departments as needed/as appropriate.
  • Use data to iterate and refine strategy and identify where pivots are necessary. 
  • Work in partnership with other team members (Strategy, Design, Content), to ensure all touchpoints are cohesive, goal oriented, and moving the client closer to their goalposts through feedback, testing, quality assurance etc. 


  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather quality reporting and visualization requirements to create reports/dashboard that meet the needs of the different end users across the organization.
  • Ensure conversion tracking and data collection is functioning properly for campaign success.
  • Support the campaign wrap-up reporting.

Resource Management

  • Keeps vendor relationships and client budget sheets organized/cataloged according to their manager’s guidance.

Other Perks

We offer a generous benefits package, including:

  • Health  benefits: After 60 days, we contribute $300 per month towards health coverage on a host of plans you can choose from or you can opt out of our plans and receive $150 per month. We do not cover dependents.  We  also cover 50% of dental and vision. 
  • Paid time off: Six sick/personal days and 10 days of vacation annually (vacation time increases by 2 days each year of employment)
  • Winter holiday schedule: One week off between Christmas and New Years
  • Summer Fridays (half-day every other Friday June-August)
  • 401(K) Retirement Contribution: After 6 months of employment, Swell contributes 3% of your total compensation into the 401k plan.
